Day One Journal Prompt – Clutter

“Where can you reduce clutter in your life?”

Absolutely nowhere. Not a single place. Not a single thing. It’s one of a small few things I’ve checked off the list completely and forever (or at least for today if tomorrow doesn’t come 🙂).

Everything I own in the world 🌎 fits into a 30L backpack. This includes:

  • 2 t-shirts
  • 1 sweatshirt currently (I’m in a colder climate than normal, so this will be donated when I get back to more warmth)
  • 2 shorts
  • 3 pair socks
  • 1 pair shoes
  • 1 pair ultralight leggings
  • Tent
  • Ultralight quilt
  • Phone
  • Headphones
  • Charger
  • Basic toiletries
  • ID
  • Birth Certificate
  • Skateboard
Everything I left home with to go nomading years ago.

The picture above is what I left my grandparent’s home with, after they moved on and my need to care for them was no more.

In the ensuing years I’ve lessened this load significantly. The skateboard helmet that I never wore was given to a young skater I came across skating through Rhode Island. The backpack was replaced by a smaller and lighter version skating across New York. The original tent was upgraded to an ultralight skating through Colorado.

Which puts me here in Mexico today, writing about something that’s alien to me. 👽
