Free WordPress Websites and Pressable Hosting

hello word with smiley

Professionally designed and developed WordPress Websites and Pressable Hosting for free.

Principles are not money. They don’t lessen the more you use them.”

Mark-Andrew

I’m Mark-Andrew. I’ve been giving WordPress websites, powered by Pressable hosting, for free to good humans going on 10+ years. For the past 5+ years these sites have been built exclusively from a mobile phone.

Contact me for a website, support, or just another human to connect with. ❤️

I use the open source platform WordPress, hosting company Pressable, e-commerce by WooCommerce, and the Jetpack plugin to build homes on the interwebs for good humans. I don’t charge. I run on reciprocation if it’s given.

The websites highlighted on my Portfolio Page are all being designed, developed, and maintained for free. My own work on each varies. From making every design decision, to just providing hosting or feedback. But the amount of love for the good humans behind each project, and the energy they’re putting into the world, is equal on every one.

Partner Knowledge Base

This Partner Knowledge Base is being updated and completed within the next 2 days (March 10th today). This is what I will be using as my on-boarding for the good humans I will be supporting.

As with the rest of the site this is a work in progress, as I’ve always shared my work and knowledge one person at a time, face to face. So this is a further attempt to codify my processes in order to share with you a starting place if you should need one. It’s also transparency so that I may receive feedback from the community on what sounds correct, what works, and what could possibly be changed for the betterment of my abilities.

Welcome

About Nomad Skateboarding

🧬 Bio: Skateboarding across the world and through life. I build WordPress websites at no charge. Open source everything. Life should not be transactional.

🙋‍♂️ I’m Mark-Andrew. I’m the person behind Nomad Skateboarding. I spend most of my time pushing across the states (the world) on my skateboard. Been hovering near Ocean Beach, CA since April 2021, enjoying the sunshine and the ocean.

🖥️ I spend the in-between time making websites using WordPress, Pressable, WooCommerce, and Jetpack. Helping people and projects grow, while promoting the open source ethos.

🙏 I don’t charge for my time or services. I run on a donation based, pay what you can (if anything), support model entirely through my GIVE page.

💸 I realize most people don’t value “free”. And I’m not opposed to reciprocation for my time and my work. In fact, I’d really enjoy an income!

My efforts are valuable. I’ve spent a large part of the last 10+ years immersing myself in building websites and growing businesses using WordPress. I’ve learned a lot, and continue to do so every day.

If it makes the work I do more valuable and/or you have the means, I would be more than happy to agree to be paid what my time is worth and for the value you will continue to receive. I would then thank you with utmost appreciation and gratitude. 🙏

Whether you are able to reciprocate or not, there are zero expectations on my side. I put the same amount of love, effort, and time into every project and person.

Cost and Expectations

  • Development: Website add ons requiring significant bespoke coding. I almost never engage in this due to not having the backend skills, and following a design philosophy of simplicity and long-term ease of use for the website owner. In very specific instances where this is needed, I will develop what I’m comfortable with, then outsource the final code for review by a full-time WordPress developer.

WordPress

WordPress is the CMS (content management system). Think of your website as files that need to be stored in a file cabinet. WordPress is the file cabinet. It’s free and open source. What you create you own. It will grow as you do. It has a community behind it that is loving, welcoming, and inclusive.

If there is ever anything I would like to give to every good human I meet it is this: At least take a short bit of time to learn the basics of your site and the community that sustains it. It’s life changing. (I can do no better than to point you towards HeroPress for hundreds of first person stories of the power of WordPress.)

Pressable

Pressable is the hosting provider I use on every site I’ve made for over 10 years. I feel, and testing shows, they are where “WordPress works best”. They also just so happen to have the *most human humans you will ever encounter on the other side of a support call. (*not hyperbole)

They have provided the foundations for me to support others in growing hundreds of dreams and businesses in ways I’m not sure most would believe. Suffice to say, they will make sure your new website is secure, fast, and just works.

WooCommerce

WooCommerce is a customizable, open-source eCommerce platform built on WordPress.”

Jetpack

Jetpack is security, performance, and growth tools made for WordPress sites by the WordPress experts.”
